Landscapes of Exploration

Scott Polar Research Institute, Cambridge

4 Oct – 16 Nov 2013

Philip was one of the first two artists chosen to go to Antarctica on the BAS Artists and Writers scheme in 2001. This gave him access to a landscape like no other. As an artist, in addition to the landscape, it provided a new way of working. He was part of a team of scientists and support staff, thrown together in remoteness. This is an exhibition of work that was created by the various artists and writers who were invited by BAS to Antarctica on the programme.
